FAMILY MEMORIES

Who is a family session for?

If you are a sensitive, emotional, and somewhat nostalgic person this service is for you. Rather than creating scenarios and looking for perfect poses, I capture life as beautiful as it is. Even though I still do a few traditional family photos, my photoshoots are always focused on spontaneous images, those are my clients’ favourites.

Why should I have family films?

We all know how fast kids grow and new adventures are always taking place. Their voices change, their interests, the way they laugh, play and how they see the world. As parents, you will miss each stage and that is why family films are a real treasure. It is a half-day of your life documented, where you will see your children’s personality, the funny and cute things they say, and the whole connection between all of you.

High quality family films are the most vivid memory you will have, full of movements, sounds, stories, and emotions. These films give you the opportunity to re-live these stages of your family’s lives. They are designed to provide lots of laughs and tears for you, for your kids and future generations.

Let’s transform simple daily moments into special memories for life.

I don’t feel comfortable in front of the cameras.
Can I still have a session?

I have heard this from a lot of my clients and the answer is a big “Yes”. I don’t expect you to know how to pose, especially your kids. It is part of my job as a videographer and photographer to guide you always when necessary, in order to create natural moments of fun, care, and love, where you will be playing and interacting naturally with each other, without pressure or performing.

We will consider your children’s routine and interests to have them as happy as possible for it.
For then, we can capture your family exactly as you are.

What is included in my family session?

What you get will depend on the package you choose. All the session packages include a videography and/or photography pre-consultation, session fee, private online gallery and at least 20 digital photos.
I offer 3 standard packages: limited photos; full photo collection and prints; family film,
full photo collection, and prints.

We can also include add-ons, such as photo books or personalise a quote for your needs.

When should I book my pregnancy session?

Maternity sessions are recommended between 28-34 weeks when the bump has already a defined shape and before the mum possibly experiences low energy levels. To ensure you will be able to make a booking on the perfect time, please get in contact at least a month in advance.

When should I book a newborn session?

The best timeframe to hold a newborn session is within the first 2 weeks.
After that, your little one will become gradually more aware and tend to wake up easily, which makes a little harder for settling and posing.

Please, contact me at any time during your pregnancy to give me an estimated due date and secure your booking. Once your baby arrives, we will confirm your session date or reschedule it.

When should I book a family session?

For family sessions, the perfect time is now! Each moment of your kid’s childhood is unique and worthy to be captured. They grow up in a blink of an eye and they won’t be that little forever. As an experienced photographer and videographer I can say, each age has its own beautiful particularities to be captured.

How long does a photoshoot take?

Pregnancy and family sessions range from 1 to 3 hours, depending on the package you choose.

If your package includes a storytelling film, your session will take approx. 3 hours. The idea is to document a half-day of your family, so I will be following your routine and activities you would like to have captured.

How long does a newborn session take?

The newborn session takes approx. 3 hours. There is no rush at all at these photoshoots. I know how sensitive newborn babies are and I’m really patience to wait until they get calm and sleepy to be safely posed. Most of the session will be for posing, feeding and comforting.

How long does it take to get my images?

Editing takes approx. 6 weeks from your session or event. Your film will be available to be watched online, in a private link. Includes music licensing and professional colour grading. The USB device takes extra 3 weeks to be delivered via postcode.

In approximately 4 weeks from your session, your photos will be available in an online private gallery. If the photos are good quality in black and white, they will also be uploaded. You can use the online gallery to select digital files and prints, depending on your package. The USB device (including all files) and photo products, takes an extra 3 weeks.

Photobooks will be designed and available for online approval within 6 weeks from your session. If you would like some changes, an additional week is necessary to update to the new version.
The final delivery takes 4 weeks from layout approval.

Do you retouch the images?

My style is natural and candid, so despite this, all images will be retouched to enhance the colors and adjust the light. I will not over-use digital manipulation that could create a fake result. Photoshop is welcomed in minor situations, such as cuts and scrapes. I believe that by using the best angles and composition while shooting, there is no reason for further manipulation.

Where is my session happening?

We can plan a session at your home, at the beach or even in a local park you like. I’m happy to recommend some places, but the most important thing is to find a location where your family feels comfortable. Also, depending on the package you choose and the travel time, we can shoot at two different locations.

Where is the newborn session happening?

For newborn sessions, the shoot is happening at your home, where it will be comfortable for you and your baby. I’ll bring a few props and wraps to combine with your baby’s personal things.

Can I reschedule the session?

In case the weather is not favorable we can postpone the session for another day. Please note that cloudy days are still suitable for shooting, sometimes it is even better because the light becomes softer. I love it!
If you would like to reschedule for any other reason, please let us know as soon as possible.

What should I wear?

Your session is a memory of who you are at this time, so please feel free to wear what suits your style and would make you feel comfortable to enjoy the day. There are no rules, but I would recommend something that won’t get too much attention, as what we most want is to focus on facial expressions and connection as a family. Neutral and earthy colours usually work better than strong, and bright ones.
Also, it would be good to avoid strong patterns, visible logos and thin stripes; as to pay a little attention to coordinate the colours between everyone.

For children, costumes can be very cute as well, but in that case, feel free to also bring a second option to vary the result.

For pregnancy sessions, lots of clothing style will work very well, such as maxi dresses, dresses that tie at the waist and skirt with a crop top that allow you to reveal your baby bump. In case we are shooting at your home, you can also use a bodysuit or underwear with kimono or white shirt. It is good to bring more than one option to vary the result.

Once we book your session, I can send some references and help you with that decision.
